Not going to Mexico

Dear Family, Our show at Northeastern... Little Shop of Horrors... was a great success! We were very proud of our cast and I was happy that Brian, Vicki, Scott, Tiffany, and Gary and Deb were there to see it.
I was scheduled to go to Mexico Friday morning for a nine-day tour but after careful thought about all the warnings for tourist safety I decided to withdraw. Sometimes it is best to heed the advice given by family and friends and I think this is one of those times. Of course, there is a feeling of disappointment because it was atrip I really wanted to make. However, knowing that the political climate there is not good was certainly a cause for concern in my decision. I just
have a strong feeling I am not to go... a sign from God, if you will. Now, having made the necessary
cancellation calls, I am feeling tremendous relief. Andy is coming up to stay and take Gary to the
station at 4:00 a.m each day and I will be able to help with the daily appointments he has, hopefully have some fun with Andy and accomplish some things on my own. Good decision!!!
Hopefully, this weekend storm is winter's last hurrah, although I have heard that we could have a couple of more doozies before the end of the month. Let's hope that is wrong!
As of April 1st, I will no longer be playing dinner music at Heritage Hills. They are eliminating all of the pianists (4) in favor of "canned" music... a cost-cutting idea. I will miss that very much because it was enjoyable! Howerev, our little performing group, "3's a Company" is going great guns! We have 2 engagements in March and 3 in April!
"Murder in the Mansion", our first ever murder mystery dinner theater at the Woman's Club is
April 18th. This was my first try at writing a play and those who have read it think it will work well. It takes place in 1889, in our Clubhouse, built in 1880 and so there is lots of atmosphere.
Several of my friends have agreed to take part and so it will be lots of fun.... if any of you are interested... $65.00. per couple .. exquisite hors d'ouevres, followed by a gourmet catered dinner, during which time the play will progress setting up various suspects. When the murder occurs, the investigation will begin immediately and the crime will be solved.
Please put Diane Sutton in your prayers. She is the daughter of Uncle Bob and Aunt Millie Sutton.
She just learned that she has stage 2 breast cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. She and Robin were born 2 days apart in 1956.
On a brighter note Gary and cohort Jim Horn on the Morning News were voted by the Broadcasters of America to among the top 250 most influential newscasters in the country... quite an honor and we're very proud of that award!. Gary continues to progress well in his recovery from knee-replacement surgery and has lost over 50 pounds and continues to lose.
This will be a real plus for the new knee and for his general health and mobility.

Let's hear some more news from all of you and keep this thing going. It's a great way to keep in touch!...................Love you all, Mom/Grandma
