Stilll Alive and Kicking...and Sicking
It is Friday evening, about 9 PM. I am going back to bed because I am feeling poopy. I have been on Amoxycillin for four days and have seen dramatic improvement, but it will be a few more days before I am completely recovered. The one good thing to report is that my weight is down a total of 13 pounds (510 down to 497) so I will try to keep that going once I amfeeling better.
I hope everyone else is doing well. Take care and God bless.

Health Update on the Fat Guy
OK, the good news is...IT IS NOT PNEUMONIA!!
Bad news...It is Bronchitis
I have been in bed since Monday evening. I am on Amoxycillin, and inhaler and a decongestant tablet. I am feeling some better tonight, but I haven't really slept very well for the last three nights.
Q. How long can a person go without sleeping?
A. Four days, but you have to keep dancing! yukyukyuk
Well, I don't feel up to dancing in a marathon, so I sure hope to get a good night's sleep tonight.
Love to you all.

Progress Report
Week 1--I started the week pretty well, although my knees were really bothering me. But, I did manage to drop about 8 pounds (mostly water weight) by cutting back on my salt. I did not get to my gym though but I was planning to start that tonight.
That plan may change now because I have to see the doctor at 3:10 this afternoon to see if I have my annual dose of pneumonia. Yep, let's check the usual symptoms. Racking cough, check.
Labored breathing, check. Coughing up lots of gunk, check. Yessiree, sure sounds like pneumonia to me. I will keep you all posted.
In the meantime, however, I will continue to be more aware of what I eat so that I can lose some more weight before next Monday, exercise or not. God bless!

Here We Go Again...For The Last Time
I realize that for most, if not all of you, this will bring a smirking sort of smile to your face and a "yeah, sure, heard that before" to your mind, if not your lips. However, Vicki and I are starting on a new lifestyle plan to improve our eating habits and our physical conditioning, in the hope that we will be able to enjoy many more happy years together with all of you, the beloved members of our family.
Yeah, I know, you have heard this all before, more times than probably any of us can count. But, between seeing our first grandchild, D.J., and the hopes of seeing many more grandchildren, plus seeing what Gary had to go through with his knee replacement operation and recovery, Vicki and I have both decided to re-evaluate our priorities and make getting healthier the number one priority in our life. I hope you will all pray for our success and not send any 5 pound boxes of chocolate for Mother's Day.
I will make regular posts here to let you know how we are doing. We are actually starting, officially, tomorrow morning, March 16. Keep watching, I may even post photos, which would undoubtedly help each of you stay on your OWN healthy weight plans.
Love to you all, Brian

Hey, It's Good To Be Back Home Again...
Just like the John Denver song, it sure is good to be back home again. Although Vicki and I were not planning to come home until next Monday, the weather forecast in Myrtle Beach was sucky on Friday, turning suckier over the weekend and into next week. Therefore, we decided to drive home today, in good weather, and have the weekend to sort of get up to speed by Monday. For me particularly, it has been a longer than usual time away from home. Ten days in PA, I got home on Wednesday evening and left Thursday morning for Myrtle Beach. My bed misses me and I miss my bed. We will be reunited tonight.

Not going to Mexico
Dear Family, Our show at Northeastern... Little Shop of Horrors... was a great success! We were very proud of our cast and I was happy that Brian, Vicki, Scott, Tiffany, and Gary and Deb were there to see it.
I was scheduled to go to Mexico Friday morning for a nine-day tour but after careful thought about all the warnings for tourist safety I decided to withdraw. Sometimes it is best to heed the advice given by family and friends and I think this is one of those times. Of course, there is a feeling of disappointment because it was atrip I really wanted to make. However, knowing that the political climate there is not good was certainly a cause for concern in my decision. I just
have a strong feeling I am not to go... a sign from God, if you will. Now, having made the necessary
cancellation calls, I am feeling tremendous relief. Andy is coming up to stay and take Gary to the
station at 4:00 a.m each day and I will be able to help with the daily appointments he has, hopefully have some fun with Andy and accomplish some things on my own. Good decision!!!
Hopefully, this weekend storm is winter's last hurrah, although I have heard that we could have a couple of more doozies before the end of the month. Let's hope that is wrong!
As of April 1st, I will no longer be playing dinner music at Heritage Hills. They are eliminating all of the pianists (4) in favor of "canned" music... a cost-cutting idea. I will miss that very much because it was enjoyable! Howerev, our little performing group, "3's a Company" is going great guns! We have 2 engagements in March and 3 in April!
"Murder in the Mansion", our first ever murder mystery dinner theater at the Woman's Club is
April 18th. This was my first try at writing a play and those who have read it think it will work well. It takes place in 1889, in our Clubhouse, built in 1880 and so there is lots of atmosphere.
Several of my friends have agreed to take part and so it will be lots of fun.... if any of you are interested... $65.00. per couple .. exquisite hors d'ouevres, followed by a gourmet catered dinner, during which time the play will progress setting up various suspects. When the murder occurs, the investigation will begin immediately and the crime will be solved.
Please put Diane Sutton in your prayers. She is the daughter of Uncle Bob and Aunt Millie Sutton.
She just learned that she has stage 2 breast cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. She and Robin were born 2 days apart in 1956.
On a brighter note Gary and cohort Jim Horn on the Morning News were voted by the Broadcasters of America to among the top 250 most influential newscasters in the country... quite an honor and we're very proud of that award!. Gary continues to progress well in his recovery from knee-replacement surgery and has lost over 50 pounds and continues to lose.
This will be a real plus for the new knee and for his general health and mobility.
Let's hear some more news from all of you and keep this thing going. It's a great way to keep in touch!...................Love you all, Mom/Grandma
